Echo Newcastle sing for Great North Runners

16 September 2016

Our singers love performing in exciting and unusual places and last weekend was no exception for Echo Newcastle.

The singers, together with Echo Newcastle Music Director Mark Deeks, were asked to represent the fabulous charity RNLI at the Great North Run. Based at the 8 mile mark along the route on John Reid Road, they sang for all the runners, encouraging them to carry on and complete the race.

Music Director, Mark Deeks said, “It was a really uplifting day and so inspiring to see all those people dig so deep for the charities close to their hearts. Singing ‘Redemption Songs’ as the Red Arrows flew over will live long in the memory!”

Rachael Bentley, Event Logistics Manager for RNLI said, “Thank you so much for coming along and singing. Our runners have been raving about you on the facebook page #RNLIrunners. You really helped them up the hill and the tough time they were having during the run!”
