Inspiration Southampton set to delight WestQuay shoppers
26 November 2015
Now in their second term, the Inspiration Southampton’s free public performance Monday 30 November at 7pm at the WestQuay Shopping Centre will include over 75 singers led by celebrated West End conductor and Inspiration Southampton Musical Director Pete Harrison.
Following the success of their first concert in July, their WestQuay debut will provide visitors with a mini showcase of their talents ahead of their anticipated Christmas extravaganza concert. Their large-scale Christmas concert taking place on Sunday 20 December at the 02 Guildhall Southampton with world-class Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra will see the choir performing unique versions of popular carols, such as Joy to The World and The Little Drummer Boy.
With no auditions to join or the need to read music, the successful choir is welcoming new members to join the new term, starting in January – the perfect way to begin the New Year! Many existing choir members have inspiring, uplifting stories of their experience and encourage anyone with a passion for singing to join. The choir’s ethos is that anyone can sing you just simply have to enjoy it!
Inspiration is Southampton’s newest choir; it performs three times a year with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and is open for everyone to join. Founded six years ago in Newcastle and Leeds by Gary Griffiths, the choirs are unique in that they partner with orchestras. Inspiration believes that singing in a large group is a life-affirming and fulfilling in a way that few other activities can be, learning the same repertoire all three choirs can perform together as one.
