Charity concert raises £1,500

8 August 2010

On Friday 6 August, 70 Inspiration singers assembled at the Playhouse Whitley Bay to sing in a variety show put together by Peter Berrie (Bass, Newcastle). The concert was designed to showcase local talent and other acts included a Steel Band, a magician and a dance troupe. The show was hosted by Alfie Joey, BBC Radio Newcastle breakfast DJ.

Inspiration closed the show with numbers from the summer concert, including Disney's Vulture Quartet from The Jungle Book.

The Rotary Club of Monkseaton Centenary, of which Peter is a member and who sponsored the show, will have raised around £1500 for local charities by the time all the donations are in and counted.  All in all, a vey worthwhile evening's entertainment.
