Southampton Music Director

Pete studied at the Royal College of Music going on to work with many top orchestras as well as working extensively in the West End. He has conducted Crazy For You (Prince Edward Theatre), Disney’s Beauty & the Beast (Dominion Theatre) and Lautrec (Theatre Royal, Plymouth and Shaftesbury Theatre).

He is a regular guest conductor with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and for Raymond Gubbay Ltd where he has conducted The Last Night of the Summer Proms in Symphony Hall, Birmingham and Spectacular Classics in Manchester’s Bridgwater Hall. He will be back there in November 2015 conducting their Space Spectacular concert. He’s be back with the BSO for Christmas 2015 and the third of the Heroes series, Heroes and Aliens in 2016.

Pete was the Musical Director for the Yeovil Operatic Society for several years working on many shows including HMS Pinafore, Gigi, Carousel, Broadway Pirates, Hello, Dolly! High Society, Mame and Beauty & the Beast.

He has recently conducted the second in a series of Heroes & Superheroes concerts with the BSO as well as a Friday Night is Christmas Night concert at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff featuring their choir.

Past BSO concerts include Last Night of the Christmas Proms (Poole, Exeter and Portsmouth), Heroes & Superheroes 1 (Bristol, Poole & Portsmouth), Chilled Out Classics (Bristol & Poole), Galactic Classics (Portsmouth and Bournemouth), Michael Nyman Concert (Bristol and Poole), Dorset Wassail (Poole), Abba Symphonic Spectacular (many venues...) Live and Let Die – the Music of James Bond (Bournemouth and Wilton House, Salisbury), Queen Symphonic Rock Spectacular (Many venues…), One Enchanted Evening – the Rodgers & Hammerstein Concert (Weymouth, Southampton and Bournemouth) and The Cole Porter Celebration Concert (Southampton and Bournemouth). He has also worked as the Musical Supervisor for Jesus Christ Superstar in Concert (Portchester Castle) Chess in Concert (BIC) and Les Miserables in Concert (Powderham Castle and Broadlands House).

He is also involved with the orchestral management of West End and touring shows. Current London shows include Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Theatre Royal, Drury Lane), Billy Elliot (Victoria Palace), Gypsy (The Savoy Theatre), Memphis (The Shaftesbury Theatre), Made in Dagenham (Adelphi Theatre), The Commitments (Palace Theatre) and Women on the Verge (The  Playhouse). Tours include Anything Goes, Oklahoma! The Producers, Dirty Dancing, Dance ‘till Dawn, Shrek and Spamalot.
