The Inspiration family of choirs raising funds for charity

20 December 2017

The main backbone of Inspiration’s diary are the concerts we performed three times a year at Sage Gateshead, Leeds Town Hall and O2 Guildhall Southampton. In between those core dates we also love to use our music and camaraderie to raise as much money as possible for national and local charities. This term we have been particularly busy!

In Newcastle, one of our singers created a number of Inspiration themed knitted items, raising a fantastic £355 for St Oswald’s Hospice.

Singers from Resonance Newcastle were pleased to be invited to perform at Gainford Community Hall, helping to raise a wonderful £600 for Gainford Church.

Singers from Inspiration Leeds were invited to perform at St James' Chapel, St James’ Hospital raising funds for Blood, Sweat and Cheers (Friends of the Leeds Centre for Leukaemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma), raising a wonderful £540.

Inspiration Leeds also performed in the Yorkshire Cancer Centre Christmas Concert at Bexley Wing, St James’ Hospital. We donated a fantastic £1000, bring our running total to £3500 raised for the charity through various activities.

After selling out our main Christmas concert at Leeds Town Hall, we decided to sell tickets for the dress rehearsal in aid of Parkinsons UK. Scherzo also performed two mini concerts at Mainsgill Farmshop, Gainford in aid of the same charity and together we raise £1000.

Thanks to all the singers who took part. You’re a special bunch.
